Our Story
Rooted in the Sans Bois,
growing in grace
Center Point Baptist Church is a small, family-oriented congregation tucked into the foothills of the Sans Bois Mountains, just north of Wilburton in Latimer County, Oklahoma. For generations, this corner of southeastern Oklahoma has been home to a community of believers gathering here to worship, to serve one another, and to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Who We Are
We are a Southern Baptist church — part of the Sans Bois Baptist Association, a fellowship of 29 churches across southeastern Oklahoma, and through the association, of Oklahoma Baptists and the Southern Baptist Convention. Together with these brothers and sisters, we labor for the same Great Commission: to make disciples of Jesus Christ in our community and around the world.
What you'll find at Center Point is what you'd hope to find in a country church: faithful preaching from the Word of God, hymns sung from the heart, and people who know your name. We're a congregational church, which means decisions are made together by our members under the Lordship of Christ. We baptize believers by immersion. We take the Lord's Supper to remember His death and to anticipate His return. And we believe every person who walks through our doors matters — because they were made in God's image and Christ died for them.
Our Heritage
Generations of families in the Center Point community have worshipped at this church. Members have served as deacons, Sunday School teachers, song leaders, and faithful witnesses for decades — many for the better part of a lifetime. We are grateful for the faithfulness of those who came before us, and we pray that God would continue to use Center Point Baptist Church for many generations to come.
What to Expect
If you visit, you can expect a warm welcome and a service grounded in Scripture. We're not flashy. We sing the great hymns of the faith, we open the Bible together, and we hear the gospel preached. Come as you are — there's no dress code and no special requirements. Just bring yourself, and if you have one, bring a Bible. We'd love to meet you.
